Hotel Britannia Excelsior (Griante, Italy)

The selling point of Britannia Excelsior definitely has to be the location; sitting right on the beautiful shore of Lake Como, you have fantastic views of Bellagio, Villa Carlotta is close by and the ferry which travels across the lake is just a few minut

Guests have found the rooms to be well-cleaned and in good condition and the staff has proved to be very helpful and welcoming to all.

During the summer opening season, you will find the pontoon pool to be a great attraction and the bar staff good at mixing up exactly what you need.

Some people were unhappy to find Britannia Excelsior full with British package-tour tourists, most of whom are fairly elderly. If you are looking for somewhere small and personable, then perhaps look elsewhere.

While the dining seemed fine to some and the bars well enjoyed, a fair number of guests found the fare to be disappointing, the breakfast to be dire and the coffee worse.

A number of guests have been unhappy to find furniture old, the halls rundown and in need of refurbishing and some hotel items simply left standing in the corridors.
