Hotel Du Lac (Menaggio, Italy)

If your balcony is facing the lake, you're in luck. It's such a beautiful view and location. In fact, the location is the reason why many people select this exact hotel. The rooms are charming as well. There's no fancy décor, but the rooms are quaint and acceptably clean.

The hotel is situated directly on the piazza with plenty of cafes, shops, and dining. You can walk to practically everything including the ferry stop. Belaggio is only ten-minutes away. It's a clean safe area as well. Parking is very secure and just a few feet away.

Though the hotel is by the lake and in a somewhat thriving area, it's not too touristy, which gives it a very relaxed, neighbourhood feel. You walk around as if you've been there a thousand times and prices aren't outrageous due to the area not being full of tourists.

Of course being in the centre of town, you can expect a bit of noise. It stays lively until around midnight. Not only that, the hotel walls are thin. There's something strange with the plumbing system too. It's very noisy and it goes on all night. You can also hear the other visitors flushing the toilet. Truck deliveries to the hotel cafe starts early morning, very early morning.

Breakfast is not included with the hotel price. It may not be a big deal to some, but for some reason when the breakfast is included, you don't feel so much like a cash machine.

The hot water doesn't start flowing till around seven in the morning. It's not sure when it cuts off though.
