Hotel Du Parc (Stresa, Italy)

Dripping with chandeliers and bursting with period features, this hotel absolutely oozes Old World charm. The atmosphere here is decidedly glamourous and this property's elegant hosts only added to the ambience. Chic yet helpful, guests note that they are always present to offer assistance as well as suggestions for local sightseeing options.

The rooms - in fact this entire hotel - offer guests beautiful views of Lake Maggiore and the town of Stresa. In terms of location, visitors found that this property was a good base from which to explore Stresa and well-located for good access to local bus, ferry and train links.

Bijou rooms are often an issue in period properties, but size was not a problem here. In fact, many commented on the spaciousness of their accommodation at this hotel. Additionally, units are kept to a high standard, with a number commenting positively on the cleanliness of their rooms.

Some rooms here face onto the local train line and guests in these units commented that noise from passing trains was a problem at all hours.

While the beds here are very comfortable, many guests commented that the pillows were decidedly firm. In fact, given the luxurious surrounds, some sleepers were unhappy to find the pillows less than plush.

The interior decoration of the rooms at this property certainly wasn't for everyone, with some unhappy at the fussy scheme. However, many more guests were disappointed to find that units here lacked tea and coffee making facilities.
