Guests generally rave about the hotel's location opposite the Capitol Theatre. It's a short walk to Chinatown, Darling Harbour, and Paddy's Market, and a longer one (about 35 minutes) to Circular Quay and The Rocks, with many eateries and shops along the way. Guests who prefer public transport are happy to find the hotel within easy reach of the Central Station as well as light rail and bus stops.

The rooms are widely described as spacious, with well equipped kitchens, very comfortable beds, and modern bathrooms. The housekeeping team receive top marks for keeping the rooms sparkling, and attention to small details such as complimentary soap for the laundry machine are much appreciated.  The pool is also widely described as very clean and inviting, and the gym is generally considered well equipped and maintained.

The reception personnel consistently earn great reviews for their friendly, helpful, and professional customer service. Guests often comment on their smiling faces and willingness to go "above and beyond" the call of duty.

There is no parking on site, and the closest public lot is generally considered expensive, though it is possible to arrange parking at another building owned by the same hotel chain, a 5-10 minute walk.

Guests have reported an ineffective shower door and poor ventilation in some of the bathrooms, leading to a slippery floor.

Though rooms on higher floors with a balcony have a reasonably nice view of the city, others seem to face the backs of nearby restaurants or else have no view at all, due to their position facing inward.
