Hotel Regina Palace (Stresa, Italy)

The Hotel Regina Palace has a historic exterior that retains the charm and warmth of a memorable era. It is located in a picturesque place by the shores of Lake Maggiore and overlooks the Borromeo Islands. The Borromeo Plaza and Villa Ducale are within two kilometres of the hotel. It is a ten minute walk from the Stresa Ferry Terminal and Congressi Palace. The hotel has easy access to places as it only ten minutes drive from the A26 motorway and around 600 metres from Stresa railway station.

The rooms have an air of elegance and historic charm with rugs, antique furniture and large chandeliers. All the rooms have air conditioning and heating facilities. Satellite television and minibar are present. The rooms have spa baths. They have views of the lake, islands or garden.

The hotel has a unique indoor swimming pool which is set in a cave with effects of lights and sounds provided. There is a sauna and Turkish bath present as well. Guests can work out at the fitness centre or play a game of tennis at the tennis court. There are two restaurants providing local dishes as well as elaborate menus. The dining room boasts pleasant views of the Lake Maggiore. Al fresco dining is possible in summer. Parking is free at the hotel and guests can access Wi-Fi freely throughout the building.

The amenities in rooms like clothes hangers and hooks are missing. Toiletries provided are limited. The plumbing work is not too great as there are problems with the flush. Double beds are just two beds pushed together making sleeping uncomfortable.

The drinks served at the bar are expensive and not of a good quality either. Wi-Fi does not work in the rooms.

The hotel is a non smoking one but smokers are found near the pool areas and even indoors. Guests are not encouraged to wear head caps while swimming.
