About Te Moana Tahiti Resort
Situated in a very convenient position on Tahiti’s
western shore, Manava Suite Resort is within minutes of terrific snorkelling
and diving, and offers luxury resort-like accommodation.
Rooms range in size from standard to one bedroom villas, but all are sleek and modern, with lovely Polynesian accents. Each features, private balcony, air conditioning, flat screen TV and tea/coffee stations. The bigger villas also have a fully equipped kitchenette.
The star feature at Manava Suites is undoubtedly its infinity pool and terrace. The pool seemingly blends with the Pacific, and the terrace is the perfect spot to watch the sunset. There is also a full gym and spa available.
The Vaitohi Restaurant offers delectable cuisine from the Pacific Rim and beyond, while there are also lounge and pool bars for when a toast is called for.
The main attractions must surely be the resort itself and the many watersports offered by the hotel and concessionaires.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Incredible pool terrace
The pool had to be guest's favourite feature at the resort. It is a gorgeous infinity pool, and is regarded as one of the most spectacular on the island. Since the immediate area lacked an accessible beach, guests really enjoyed lazing about the pool.
positive:
Very close to the airport
A couple of guests mentioned that the proximity to the airport was a major benefit. Guests were just relived to be able to get to their hotel quickly after what had been, for most, a long and arduous series of flights up to that point.
positive:
Excellent English language skills
Several guests specifically mentioned that the English skills of the front office staff were very good. English speaking guests believed that their query or issue was well understood, and that it would be acted on appropriately.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Attention to detail lacking
It wasn't that guests thought the resort was awful. In fact they described it as lovely. It was just that, at the room-rate they were paying, they expected a true luxury experience. In their view the obsessive attention to detail in décor and service that this classification requires was lacking.
negative:
No sandy beach in the area
A couple of guests were disappointed that not only was there no beach right in front of the hotel, but there was none anywhere nearby either. Their idea of a tropical island holiday naturally included the presence of a sandy beach, but the western shores of Tahiti unfortunately do not offer these up.
negative:
Exceptionally expensive restaurant
While guests were generally happy with the quality of the food, they were certainly not happy with the prices. They are described as unacceptably high, and guests speculated that they were set that high to take advantage of the lack of other dining options nearby.
