Nestled in the trendy Southbank precinct the Mantra South Bank Brisbane is the perfect base for a visit to Brisbane city. Stylish rooms, studio’s and apartments include modern amenities with mini bars, air conditioning, TVs and tea and coffee making facilities as standard. Studios and apartments also include kitchen facilities. Swim a few laps in the 20-metre lap pool or simple relax in the spa. Guests can also maintain any fitness programme in the gym. The Southbank Lagoon is a short five-minute walk from the Mantra South Bank Brisbane and the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre is just around the corner. It is a short 20-minute stroll across the bridge into the Queen Street Mall.
The hotel is on the edge of Southbank, a short walk to the restaurants and bars in the area and five minutes walk to city beach - a man-made lagoon which overlooks the Brisbane river. The proximity to these attractions to the hotel featured consistently in reviews by guests who said it was very handy and there was plenty to do.
The beds in the rooms were singled out in reviews for special mention by guests who thought they were some of the most comfortable that they had ever slept on. The views across the the city were also mentioned - as at night the city lights up and the views from the high floors are spectacular.
A number of guests were staying at the hotel because they had a business meeting in the city or they were visiting a convention across the road at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. These business travellers mentioned it was great for business and that it provided the amenity that they needed during their stay.
Guests were a bit miffed at having to pay extra to park at the hotel as for many this had not been disclosed prior to their visit. Wi-Fi was also extra as was additional amenities if staying in an Eco Room.
Guests who ate breakfast at the hotel left only average comments about the experience, with many suggesting to future guests to try the surrounding cafes and restaurants which serve some great food.
A common complaint previous guests made in their reviews was that it was bit on the noisy side. The hotel backs onto a very busy inner city train track and for some the trains disturbed their stay for others there is a lot of traffic outside the hotel which they found contibuted to the noise.
